The workshop Focus on the Equine Eye will be organized at Lingehoeve Diergeneeskunde. The day starts with the theory about equine eye problems. Important topics to be discussed are the effective examination of the equine eye, pre-purchase findings, periocular, corneal and conjunctival tumours, ulcerative keratitis, non-ulcerative keratopathies, uveitis, lens opacities, fundic findings and ocular therapeutics.
In the practical session some cases with a normal variation as well as pathology will be presented. The cases will be discussed depending on the availability of the patients. During the practical session attending veterinarians are able to practice simple examination and surgical techniques such as regional analgesia blocks, temporary tarsorrhaphy, subpalpebral lavage insertion, third eyelid removal and enucleation.
Via a computer based case discussion the day ends with some very interesting ophthalmic cases.
